SAN FRANCISCO & BAY AREA
Asian Matchmaker in San Francisco
Best Matchmaking for Bay Area Professionals
AWM Love is San Francisco’s premier Asian matchmaking service, specializing in personal and thoughtful introductions for high-achieving professionals, executives, and UHNW singles across the Bay Area. Whether you’re in SoMa, the Peninsula, the East Bay, or Silicon Valley, we bring the same intentional, caring approach to every introduction for you. This is where I raised my children to young adults, and where my community matters — I run a local mahjong social group with over 60 members and host dating and networking events in San Francisco, Palo Alto, Cupertino and Oakland.
Founded by Cassindy Chao — a third-generation Chinese matchmaker, former Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan investment banker — AWM Love draws on years of matchmaking experience and the ancient wisdom of the Chinese 紅娘 tradition. Cassindy has been featured in Business Insider, NBC News Daily, and ABC News.
She lives in the East Bay with her husband of 27 years and is launching their three young adults.
Our San Francisco Matchmaking Process
It All Starts With Learning About You and….Who You’d Love to Meet.
Ancient Wisdom Modern Love (AWM Love) is not your grandmother’s matchmaker. We aren’t here to “arrange” a marriage or match two families or find you a merely “suitable” prospect. Our goal is your goal – to find you a deep connection leading to a vibrant relationship where both people thrive — to find “the One” for you.
We begin with a private consultation to understand who you are and what you’re genuinely looking for. From there, we handcraft each introduction — no algorithms, no swiping, no public profiles. Every match is personally selected by Cassindy and her team, drawing on our network of exceptional singles across San Francisco, the Bay Area, Los Angeles, and New York.
Who I work with in the Bay Area
My Bay Area clients are founders, developers, partners, doctors, educators and VCs. They are all incredibly good at their jobs. They are smart, impatient and 100% sincere. Much like my own family of scientists and engineers. They’ve built and optimized so much — when it’s time for finding their partner, they are ready to meet their matches.

Why dating is harder here than it should be
Your entire social circle is your coworkers. The hours are long, builds are intense. Teamwork is great and sometimes there are relationships, but often the dating pool is limited. The people you know are the people you work with. That’s not a personality problem. It’s a structural one.
The skills that built your career are working against you. You’re decisive, you optimize, you have high standards and the data to back them. All of that is why you’re successful. None of it helps here. Logic is important but most of my clients do not have all the data to make a full decision. We’ve been at the intersection of new relationships and also seeing why so many relationships have fallen apart — that knowledge, those learnings and metrics inform us as we make matches and recommendations.
You’re evaluating like an investor and dating like a recruiter. You know that a great story with no fundamentals is a bad bet. You’d never fund it. But you’ll go on four dates with someone because the résumé is impressive, and then wonder in month three why it feels like nothing. Why not have someone who has been partnered for decades help pick someone for you? Relationships run on patience, emotional availability, and a willingness to be influenced — and there’s no framework for that.
The geography is a trap. The Peninsula and the city are forty minutes (on a good day) and two different lives apart. People say “Bay Area” and mean a fifteen-mile bubble. So many people work in South Bay and try to live in the city — they end up commuting and often too tired to even date well. Our job is to find the matches and save you time.

My Own Dating Story — How I Married a Software Developer
So often my clients are ambitious, smart, and have a list. That was me.
I was engaged — very briefly — to a man who had it all on paper. He proposed, my parents were aghast. He had the Ivy League pedigree, worked in finance, and often bought me expensive designer gifts. I was head-over-heels thinking that those factors mattered. Things fell apart when I saw how he treated his own parents and it seemed disrespectful and arrogant. I didn’t date seriously for years afterwards.
Years later, I met the right man but almost missed him.
My husband and I met at a party. We saw each other and I dismissed him as too casual, too “happy,” while I was focused on another shiny guy. Yet every time our paths crossed, I liked him more and more — he was steadfast, funny, and always there for me. It took a lot to not overthink things either, as he was not the shiny finance guy that I had envisioned — yet he was better for me. Over 27 years later we’re still together, have cared for ailing parents, and raised 3 young adults. It’s that perspective about what really matters in a true marriage — that’s the rationale I bring to my clients.
Serving All of the Bay Area
My recent clients are from Sonoma down to Saratoga and inland to Danville. Most of my clients and matches are concentrated in San Francisco, San Mateo, Palo Alto, and Oakland.

FAQs
Do you only work with Asian clients?
I'm in Marin — do you work up here?
What does a matchmaker cost in the Bay Area?
Where do your matches come from?
How long before I meet someone?
I work in tech and my hours are unpredictable. Does that disqualify me?
I've been handling this on my own. Why bring in a matchmaker now?
Still deciding?
My background is unusual — third-generation 紅娘, Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan, Wellesley, and 35 years of doing this. It's also what makes me good at the specific thing I do, which is connecting exceptional people. But being effective isn't enough on its own. There has to be fit, and there has to be care. If you don't feel that when we talk, I'd rather you know it early — and so would I. The first call is free, and it goes both ways.
