Asian Matchmaker in Los Angeles
Best Matchmaking for Los Angeles Professionals
Looking for the best Asian matchmaker in Los Angeles? Cassindy Chao and her team at AWM Love work with professionals across LA — from Beverly Hills to Santa Monica, Pasadena to the South Bay — creating personal introductions that lead to love, marriage, and lasting partnership.
Cassindy Chao grew up in the South Bay — Redondo Beach and Palos Verdes — the daughter of Taiwanese immigrants and a third-generation Chinese matchmaker. I’ve worked in Cerritos and Anaheim and even helped out at my parents’ business for a year.
She knows Los Angeles, its communities, and its culture from the inside — and when to avoid the 405. A third-generation matchmaker with years of matchmaking experience and a background as a Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan investment banker, she brings a uniquely personal and professional touch to every introduction she makes in this city.
Who I work with in Los Angeles
It All Starts With Learning About You and….Who You’d Love to Meet.
My Los Angeles clients are professionals from Pasadena down to Costa Mesa and Irvine. They are in law, medicine, marketing as well as many in entertainment and, of course, the creative community. Many of my clients are first- or second-generation. Some of them have parents who ask them about their relationships — so I understand.

Why dating in LA is harder than it should be
It’s been tough too in Los Angeles with the economy and the fires, and it reinforces the importance of having a great partner. Los Angeles has no shortage of single people. That should make this easy. It doesn’t.
The city is 80 miles wide and organized around driving. Your real dating radius is far smaller than your zip code suggests. Someone in Manhattan Beach and someone in Silver Lake are theoretically an hour apart and practically living in different countries. So many people end up dating within a small bubble and that is their ecosystem.
Presentation is a profession here. I feel that there is an over-reliance on presentation — it’s one of the friendliest yet loneliest places. A great profile, a great first impression, a great story — this city is full of people who can do all three and still can’t sustain a relationship past month four.
And your social circle stopped growing around 32. Your friends are your colleagues. Your colleagues are in your industry. Your industry is a small town that happens to occupy a large one. It’s normal for social circles to be limited post-education, yet dating at work has its challenges — so where do we meet new people?
That’s the actual problem, and one that we regularly solve for our clients. We offer tactical solutions and matches, and we want to celebrate your success when you find your partner.

Client Success Story
Recently, we were ghosted by our client and we are absolutely delighted.
His story is familiar — intelligent, hard-working attorney, age 38, who did not prioritize dating as he was building up his career. Then when it came time to date, he was a little rusty and perhaps even bashful. Aww, we just loved him so much, as we knew he is ready for a true relationship but his circle was limited and with his working hours he wasn’t going to meet his match in the wild.
We got to work
After a deep-dive about his values, his family background (emigrated from Taiwan), and his interest in someone who did not judge him, had similar interests and — very importantly — also enjoyed eating, we presented 6 matches and explained our rationale for each one. He chose 4 to go on first dates with. Those dates were hard to set up given locations in LA, but we avoided bad traffic hours and we found cute eateries for them to meet up in. As we iterated, he gave us his candid feedback and we found ways for him to up his game. Then the next set of dates — we presented 2 more and well, one of them worked — and he disappeared.
Well, not really. When we did catch up he shared about his upcoming plans and where they had gone away for the weekend. In his words — “She really does check all the boxes for me.”
Serving Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego
I have family and connections from La Jolla to Huntington Beach, so we span from LA down through Orange County and Irvine to San Diego. We’ve hosted events from Studio City to Costa Mesa and more.

Where do your matches come from?
How long before I meet someone?
I'm fairly visible in my industry. How private is this?
I've been handling this on my own. Why bring in a matchmaker now?
Still deciding?
My background is unusual — third-generation 紅娘, Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan, Wellesley, and 35 years of doing this. It's also what makes me good at the specific thing I do, which is connecting exceptional people. But being effective isn't enough on its own. There has to be fit, and there has to be care. If you don't feel that when we talk, I'd rather you know it early — and so would I. The first call is free, and it goes both ways.
