Why Boston is personal for me
Boston is where a lot of this began for me. I went to Wellesley College, just west of the city, and it's where I first started introducing people to each other — friends still tease me that I've been matchmaking since my college days. I still have deep roots here: a whole network of Wellesley alumnae, and MIT friends, and the kind of friendships that last decades and have been profoundly impactful to me. I return to Wellesley regularly and serve as co-President of one of the largest alumnae organizations at Wellesley and it's meaningful to me.

My clients here are tech executives physicians and researchers, biotech and hospital leaders, founders, lawyers, and finance professionals — many tied to the universities and teaching hospitals that define this city. They're often first- or second-generation, with parents who ask (lovingly, persistently) about their relationships. I understand that world completely and offer tactical effective solutions for my clients.
Why dating here is hared than it should be
The city empties and refills every year. Boston is a college town at heart — brilliant people arrive, study, and often move on. That transience makes it genuinely hard to build something lasting.
Your world is your department, your lab, your firm. The same structural trap: your social circle is your colleagues, and dating inside your own institution is complicated at best.
Everyone's heads-down, and the winters are long. It's easy to go quiet for a semester — or a decade — and look up to realize your circle never widened past work.

One of my earliest successes was SC & MD who says - “she helped me identify my now husband”. She was a successful attorney yet sublimating her own personality to fit in. As we evolve, it's often some unlocking involved and her then boyfriend really wanted her to be that bold and bright person and not to dim her own shine.
That was the sign of a true keeper. But it was interesting as the block was not him, but her and her own transformation and evolution to develop the most important relationship which was with herself. As she strengthened her own resolve and allowed her own voice to shine, her attractiveness rose and they eventually got back together and were married in a lovely old home in Boston.
Just last year, we introduced a tech executive who had worked tirelessly to build his growing businesses and had neglected his own dating needs. He was a touch bashful too. After a few starter dates, we found the one for him. Despite coming from very different backgrounds, she came from a creative background and was a known celebrity - and he was more a tech executive. What worked was that they shared a bond of an incredible work ethic, determination and trust in each other. Our team loved seeing their relationship and trust grow.
It made us grab a handkerchief when he called to ask about what should he bring when he was going to visit her parents for holiday dinner! We loved that they were making it official.

My background is unusual — third-generation 紅娘, Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan, Wellesley, and 35 years of doing this. It's also what makes me good at the specific thing I do, which is connecting exceptional people. But being effective isn't enough on its own. There has to be fit, and there has to be care.
