Why I Work In Atlanta
I’ll be straightforward: Atlanta is a newer market for me, and I’d rather say that than invent a history I don’t have.
What brought me here is what’s happening in the city. Metro Atlanta now has one of the fastest-growing Asian-American professional populations in the country, concentrated around Johns Creek, Duluth and Alpharetta — accomplished people, many of them first- and second-generation, arriving faster than the social infrastructure that would help them meet each other. That gap is precisely what a matchmaker exists to close, and it’s why I opened this market.
I have visited Emory twice specifically to chat with a lovely young women about dating and sharing advice and tactical tips. The scientific and research community there is impressive but many serious people do not find enough time to date - that needs to change. We all deserve love.

I’m a third-generation Chinese matchmaker (紅娘) and a former Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan investment banker. I’ve been featured in Business Insider, NBC News Daily, and ABC News. I bring both the ancient wisdom of the 紅娘 tradition and a very modern understanding of the lives my clients actually lead.

My Atlanta clients are corporate executives at the Fortune 500 companies headquartered here, physicians and researchers connected to Emory and the CDC, attorneys, consultants, founders, and professionals in film and media — an industry that has quietly reshaped this city. Many live in Johns Creek, Duluth and Alpharetta, where the Asian-American professional community has grown substantially, and are balancing ambitious careers against family expectations that carry real weight.
Not all of my clients are Asian. A growing share are people whose lives already cross cultures — through work abroad, international careers, or families that already do — and who want a partner who understands that world. Those introductions take real cultural fluency, and it’s something I pay close attention to.
Why Dating Here Is Harder Than It Should Be
Atlanta sprawls, and sprawl is a dating problem. Someone in Alpharetta and someone in Decatur may as well live in different cities on a Tuesday night. Geography quietly eliminates matches that would otherwise work.
Corporate life here is all-consuming. Headquarters cities run on long hours and heavy travel. Your circle becomes your company, and the company is not a place to date.
The community is growing faster than its social infrastructure. The Asian-American professional population here has expanded enormously, but the places to meet people within it haven’t caught up. A lot of accomplished singles are geographically close and socially unconnected.
Family expectations are present and rarely discussed openly. Many of my Atlanta clients are carrying parental hopes they’ve never quite talked about directly. That pressure is real, and it deserves to be handled with care rather than treated as noise.

My background is unusual — third-generation 紅娘, Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan, Wellesley, and 35 years of doing this. It's also what makes me good at the specific thing I do, which is connecting exceptional people. But being effective isn't enough on its own. There has to be fit, and there has to be care.
